BAD DREAM
Everyone has a bad dream now and then. We usually say they are bad because
they are unpleasant. They can also be bad because they make us sleepy the next
day.

A bad dream is one in which something unpleasant happens. We lose something


or forget something or are in an embarrassing situation or some kind of physical
danger. Sometimes we even get killed. Our unpleasant feelings during the dream
are often strong enough to wake us up. Sometimes they are so strong that we
cannot get rid of them. Then we cannot go back to sleep. We lie awake the rest
of the night and have to get up in the morning to go to work or school. Because
we did not get all the sleep we needed, we feel tired and eventually become
sleepy. We cannot learn or work properly. We may even fall asleep in class or at
work.
