What is 5G?

• 5G Wireless: 5th generation wireless technology

• Complete wireless communication with almost no
limitations
• Can be called REAL wireless world
• Has incredible transmission speed
What does it offer?

• Worldwide cellular phones

• Extraordinary data capabilities
• High connectivity
• More power & features in hand held phones
• Large phone memory, more dialing speed, more
clarity in audio & video
5G

• 5G technology refer to short name of fifth Generation

which was started from late 2010s.
• Complete wireless communication with almost no limitations.
• It is highly supportable to WWWW
(Wireless World Wide Web).
• 10 times more capacity than
others
• Expected speed up to 1 Gbps
• More faster & reliable than 4G
• Lower cost than previous
generations
5G Spectrum and Frequency
Multiple frequency ranges are now being dedicated to 5G new
radio (NR). The portion of the radio spectrum with frequencies
between 30 GHz and 300 GHz is known as the millimeter wave,
since wavelengths range from 1-10 mm. Frequencies between 24
GHz and 100 GHz are now being allocated to 5G in multiple
regions worldwide.

Network Slicing – enables a smart way to segment the network

for a particular industry, business or application. For example
emergency services could operate on a network slice
independently from other users.
The Radio Access Network - consists of various types of
facilities including small cells, towers, masts and dedicated in-
building and home systems that connect mobile users and
wireless devices to the main core network.
Small cells will be a major feature of 5G networks particularly at
the new millimetre wave (mmWave) frequencies where the
connection range is very short. To provide a continuous
connection, small cells will be distributed in clusters depending
on where users require connection which will complement the
macro network that provides wide-area coverage.
The Core Network - is the mobile exchange and data
network that manages all of the mobile voice, data and
internet connections. For 5G, the ‘core network’ is being
redesigned to better integrate with the internet and cloud
based services and also includes distributed servers across
the network improving response times (reducing latency).
Beamforming
Another breakthrough technology integral to the success of 5G
is beamforming. Conventional base stations have transmitted
signals in multiple directions without regard to the position of
targeted users or devices

5G delivers-
• Better connection
• Faster speed
• Massive MIMO
• Low latency
