• 1st developed in 1920’s
• Intended to aid in the selection of personnel in Armed Forces.
• No right or wrong answer but it measures one’s personality
and behavioral style.
• Used in career guidance in individual
• Determined personality strengths and weaknesses

• Measure student’s learning as results of instruction and training
experiences.
• They serve as basis for promotion to the next grade in contrasts
with APTITUDE TESTS* determined a student’s potential to
learn new tasks.
• A career aptitude tests in college aids in choosing the best line of
work for an individual based on his/her skills interests.
(c) INTELLIGENCE TESTS
• Measure learners innate intelligence or mental ability.
• First modern Intelligence Tests was published in 1905
by Aifred Binet & Theodore Simon
• Intelligence tests contains items on verbal,
comprehension, quantitative & abstract reasoning.
(d) A SOCIOMETRIC TEST
• Introduced in the year (1910)
• Test requires an individual to choose his associates for
any group of which he is or might become a member
• Sociometric tests is an instrument which he is or might
become a member.
(e) A TRADE OR VOCATIONAL TEST
• An individuals knowledge, skills and competence in a
particular occupation.
• Is a test to assess proficiency and skills level of an individual
in any number of skilled trades.
• Trade test may consist of a theory test and practical test.
• It determine the fruitfulness of training programs.

(c) TESTS CAN MOTIVATE LEARNING.
(d) TESTS CAN FACILITATE LEARNING.
(e) TESTS ARE USEFUL MEANS OF OVER LEARNING
2.ADMINISTRATIVE FUNCTIONS

(a) TESTS CAN LIFE A MECHANISM OF QUALITY CONTROL

PLACEMENT DECISIONS.

IN THE PROCESS OF LEARNING.
