Environmental

threats
Introduction

Environmental threats are harmful after-effects of

human activities on the physical environment,
plaguing the planet with pollution, deforestation,
climate change, ozone depletion, and water scarcity.
Some examples of environmental threats are:
• Air pollution.
• Deforestation.
• Global Warming.
• Water Pollution.
Air Pollution
Air pollution is the contamination of air due
to the presence of substances in
the atmosphere that are harmful to human
beings and other living species, which can
also cause damage to the climate around
us.
Some causes of Air Pollution are:
• Diseases.
• Allergies.
• Death to humans.
Deforestation

Deforestation refers to the decrease in

forest areas across the world that are lost
for other uses, such as agricultural
croplands, urbanization, or mining activities.
Some causes of Deforestation are:
• Natural ecosystems.
• Biodiversity.
• The climate.
Global warming
Global warming is an aspect of climate
change, referring to the long-term rise of the
planet's temperatures.
Some of the Global Warming causes are:
• Human activities.
• Burning fossil fuels.
• Farming.
Water pollution

• Water pollution is the contamination of water

sources by substances which make the water
unusable for drinking, cooking, cleaning,
swimming, and other activities.
Some of the Water Pollution causes are:
• Litter thrown in the water.
• Bacteria.
• Parasites.
