WHAT IS BUBBLE TEA AND WHICH COUNTRY IT
WAS INVENTED FROM?

 Bubble tea is a tea-based drink, which is originated in Taiwan.

 Bubble tea is also known as pearil milk tea, bubble milk tea, tapioca milk
tea, boba tea or boba
 The founder is Liu Han-Chieh, he came up with the idea of serving
Chinese tea cold in the early 1980s after visiting Japan where he saw
coffee served cold.
 Also known as “ black pearl tea” or “boba tea”
INGREDIENTS TO MAKE BUBBLE TEA

 Ingredients of bubble tea are black pearl, sugar and creamer, black tea, green tea and
oolong tea.
 For the milk, people usually include powdered milk or fresh milk, but may also use
condensed milk, almond milk, soy milk, or coconut milk.
 Make your simple syrup by combining equal parts water and sugar.

Boil the tapioca pearls following instructions on the package.

Brew your tea to the desired consistency.
Add your syrup, ice, milk and tea into a glass.
TYPES OF BUBBLE TEA
 Everyone has their own taste, so there are many
different types to choose in order to match their
needs therefore it was made with different kinds
of fruits.
 For example: taro bubble tea, strawberry bubble
tea, chocolate bubble tea, mango bubble tea,
honeydew bubble tea and so on.
 There are also different toppings which is
colourful and creative.
WHAT IS SO SPECIAL ABOUT BUBBLE TEA AND
WHAT INFLUENCED BUBBLE TEA?

 It is extremely tasty and sweet. The sweet taste of the tea paired with the
delicious toppings make up the unique taste that bubble tea provides.
 Drinks like iced coffee or juice have the same texture but with bubble tea, the
pearls offer a sort of “break” from the same boring consistency.

DOES BUBBLE TEA EXPIRE?

 It is highly recommended within 8-10 hours.

 Do not store in the refrigerator or in a cold area which can cause the tapioca pearls to harden
and will no longer be chewy or pleasant to eat.
 On average, the pearls expire nine to 12 months after production, giving you a solid window
to throw them in your favorite milk tea.
 Once boba expires, they can't hurt you, but they definitely won't taste great and can't hold any
flavor
HOW DID BUBBLE TEA GET POPULAR?

 In the 1990s, bubble tea spread all over East and Southeast Asia with its ever-growing
popularity. In regions like Hong Kong, Mainland China, Japan, Vietnam, and Singapore, the
bubble tea trend expanded rapidly among young people.
 It started trending by creating aesthetic drinks and different kinds of packaging which attract
customers and encourage them to post their drink on social media, which went viral and
gained lots of attention.
 The way the drinks look and tastes have become a social phenomenon that everyone wants to
be a part of.
WHY IS BUBBLE TEA SO ADDICTIVE AND CAN
YOU HAVE BUBBLE TEA WHILE PREGNANT?
 Pearls, milk and tea are not toxic materials,
they are just food. But if you love drinking
bubble tea, you are actually addicted to its
sugar.
 Drinking bubble tea once or twice a month
may not be harmful but there are other teas
that can help to satisfy your craving.
 Especially pregnant women should definitely
avoid bubble tea since it contains caffeine.
