To divide decimal by whole number:

•Use the long division method while ignor-


ing the decimal point.
•After dividing, place the decimal point di-
rectly above the decimal point in the divi-
dend.
•Put the decimal point directly above the
decimal point in the dividend leads to the
quotient.
•Check your work by multiplying quotient
by the divisor. The product should be
equal to the dividend.
