FPRA

[ Flexi Power Rectifier ]

NSN Rectifiers
General Description:

The FPRA is a 6 kW output power have three individual 2 kW AC/DC power

modules operating in a parallel mode configuration.

- It includes Power Distribution Assembly (PDA) which has a Low Voltage

Disconnection LVD, loads and batteries circuit breakers, battery current shunt and
alarm signals to the BTS.

- Rated AC Input Voltage VAC Min = 180 v , VAC Max = 276 v.

- Rated DC Output Voltage VDC Min = - 56 v , VDC Max = - 52 v.
- Rated DC Output Current IDC = 109.9 A.

Note: If input voltage less than 180 v, Power alarm will appear at the rectifier –
Rectifier module will turns Off.
Hardware Description:
 FPRA Consists of PDA (Power Distribution Assembly – 3 Operating Modules –

For 3-phase star AC system, use one Phoenix 3-pole bridges to short
the terminals 1,2,3 on the AC terminal block as indicated at the b/m photo.

Important Notes:

- At Replacing any PDA, you should disconnect the AC power and

disconnect the batteries by removing the middle bar (between any two
batteries) at every string – This important to avoid the short circuit spark.

- Make sure that you tight the DC cables well with its terminals.

- The current flow from each DC C.B mustn’t exceed 50 A.

- Low Voltage Disconnection LVD.

Rectifier Module have the b/m characteristic:

- Over current protection. The rectifier shuts down once an over current
is detected, and recovers automatically when the fault is no longer
present.

- Over voltage protection. The rectifier shuts down once an over voltage
is detected for the first time, and recovers automatically when the fault is
no longer present. If the over voltage is detected for the second time, the
rectifier will shuts down for ever until the AC power supply re-powers
up to restart the rectifier.

J22 Rosette:

It is consist of 14 trip used to connect Temperature sensor at trips(7,8,9,10) and

other trips used to connect power alarms between two rectifier.

Temperature sensor: consists of 4 cables (red –white –black - cable screen

(thick black)) fixed at J22.

Note: If Temperature degree at rectifier equal -49ºc this means temp sensor is
faulty or there are a bad connection of its cable. LVD will be disconnected.
- Parallel cables between two rectifiers is connected as shown in the b/m
table.
- We connect two parallel cables as a cross between the two boards.
J11 Rosette:
is a rosette consists of 14 trips where used to connect Power alarms (AC,
Major, Minor) where
Note:

- The two wires of the alarms are sensible of the polarity i.e. the alarm will not appear if you
reverse the two wires.
Parallel installation of the FPRA
Connecting two FPRA with One battery string:

- The purpose of installing more than one FPRA is to share the battery
strings and support with different loads.

How to determine master and slave ?

Master rectifier has normal green LED but Slave have Flashing green LED.
Connect to GUI of FPRA:
In order to connect to the FPRA CU, the
IP-address of the user’s PC should be
within the same IP range of the CU.
 IP Address: 142.120.72.172
User Name : root
Password: default
 change the user’s PC IP-address as:
