What is Environment Protection?
Environment protection is the actions taken to protect the natural world
such as the Land, Sea, Air, Plants and Animals by Individuals, Organisations
and Government.

Any activity to maintain or restore the quality of environmental media

through preventing the emission of pollutants or reducing the presence of
polluting substances in environmental media is also known as protecting
the Environment.

These Individuals, Organisations and Government’s main objective is to

conserve the natural resources and the existing natural environment. 3
How the Environment is being damaged and Who
is Responsible?
The main causes for the environment damage is Pollution. Moreover using up
of resources such as air, water, soil, destruction of ecosystems and the
extinction of wildlife has become the major causes of the damage to the
environment.

Human Beings are entirely responsible for this destruction that has being done
to the environment. Humans have destroyed a Tenth of Earth’s remaining
wilderness in the last 25 years and there may be none left within a century if
trends continue, according to an authoritative new study.

The Major types of pollution
Air pollution

Water Pollution

Light Pollution

Noise Pollution

Thermal Pollution

Littering
7
Types of pollution and how it affects us
Air Pollution
Air pollution refers to the release of
pollutants like toxic gases into the air
that are harmful to the human health
and to the whole planet.

Water Pollution

Water pollution refers to the

contamination of water bodies like
lakes, rivers , ponds, and the sea. It can
have extremely disastrous
consequences for all living beings using
contaminated water.
8
Light Pollution
The pollution of the night
environment by anthropogenic light is
known as light pollution. This type of
pollution is caused by an excessive
lighting of the streets. This is harmful
for the health of the living creatures.

Littering When waste products

generated by humans is not disposed
off properly it is called Littering.
Waste can include anything that is
discarded by humans after use Eg:
bottles, glass, metal, paper. 9
How to save the Environment and Reduce Pollution

Conserve Water Grow more Trees

Water conservation is the Trees are essential to life they

management of water. Water
conservation is an important aspect of filter air pollution. Trees are useful
worksite environmental management to both humans and other living
resources. organisms.

useful products. This is done to Sunlight, or solar energy .
reduce the use of raw materials Renewable energy plays an

greenhouse gas emissions.
11
Why we should Protect the Environment
The Environment is the most important resource for life. We get water, power and Oxygen
from the Environment . A clean environment is essential for healthy living. Air pollution can
cause respiratory diseases and cancer, among other problems and diseases. Water pollution
can lead to typhoid, diarrheal diseases, and other water-related diseases. Therefore we
should keep our environment clean and protected.
Every 10 minutes one kind of animal , plant or insect dies out For ever.

We should Realise that we are the ones responsible for the damage of the environment and
we are the ones who should protect the environment So if we Don’t We ourselves will have
to suffer the CONSEQUENCES.

12
MY CONCLUSION AND
MY MESSAGE
This World is not made only for the human beings to live the way they want
and to destroy it the way they like.

Every living being has the right to live in this Environment Peacefully.

From today onwards think to YOURSELVES that YOU are the guardians of
this environment and it is YOUR duty to protect the environment so that
this Environment will protect YOU.
