also constructive possession-

Actual possession exists when the drug is in the immediate


physical possession or control of the accused,

and Constructive possession exists when the drug is under the


dominion and control of the accused or when he has the right to
exercise dominion and control over the place where it is found.

ELEMENTS OF DRUG ADDICTION
 PHYSICAL DEPENDENCE –
 Body begins to need it as much as it needs food.
 If the use of the drug is stopped or withdrawn, the body reacts by showing
what are known as withdrawal symptoms.

WITHDRAWAL SYMPTOMS – the ill effects


that a drug taker/abuser feels when he

Withdrawal can lead to death.
Drug that produce physical dependence are called
ADDICTIVE DRUGS.
DRUG TOLERANCE
 Because of the usual use of drugs, the users
need to take more or increases his/her
intake to keep getting the same
effect.
 For instance, It takes some drinkers more beer
for them to get drunk than other drinker.
POLYDRUG ABUSE
Many POLYDRUG ABUSERS often mix alcohol
with drugs. This is a dangerous practice.

For example, If mixed with alcohol, can have a


serious consequences because it potentials the
effect of drugs that may include coma and even
death.

and hallucination.

The car in which Jacqueline traveled. She was hit by another car
that was driven by a 17-year old male student on his way home
after drinking a couple of hard packs with his friends. This was in
December 1999.
After the accident Jacqueline has needed over 40 operations.
Jacqueline was caught in the burning car and her body was heavily
burnt during around 45 seconds.
