Barangay Development Council

barangay development undertakings.
it is the one that formulates barangay
development plan (BDP) based on local needs
and priorities, propose and recommend
programs and projects, implement, monitor
and evaluate the same.
Composition and Structure of EBDC

Roles and Functions of the EBDC Members
Assure the full participation of the populace and the different
sectors in scrutinizing, studying and analyzing the actual
situation of the community
Formulate Barangay Development Plan (BDP) and Annual
Investment Plan (AIP) based on the priority need of the
different sectors in the community
Monitor and evaluate the implementation of programs and
projects of the barangay council and of different agencies
based on the approved Brgy. Dev’t. Plan and Municipal
Comprehensive Development Plan
Report and present regarding the status of program and project
implementation to different sectors and to the general
assembly
Conduct meeting at least once every quarter
Criteria for Selection of Sectoral
Representatives
Agrees the importance of participation and involvement in sectoral
and community development undertakings
Give and allocate time to coordinate and linkage in its sector
Willing to represent his/her sector and bring out his/her sector’s
goals, aspirations and proposed programs and projects to the
Barangay Development Council (BDC)
Shall represent only one sector
With dignity and commitment to serve
Endorsed and duly approved by everybody through consensus not
merely appointed
Willing to serve in voluntary basis without asking any remuneration
Responsibility of Sectoral Representative
Facilitate and hold meeting before the scheduled BDC in order to
draft and finalize their sectoral priority development proposals
Monitor and supervise the process and quality of participation of its
sector in community development undertakings
Ensure that its sector is strong enough to uphold its plan and ideas
Coordinate and linkage to other different sectors having with similar
aspirations and ideas
Monitor the proper management and implementation of Barangay
Development Plan and Municipal Comprehensive Development
Plan (MCDP), and the programs of agencies, barangay council and
municipal including financial utilization and management

it is an Annual Investment Program in which
the approved priority sectoral development

implementation within the fiscal year
