DEPARTMENT OF SOCIOLOGY
History
The Dept of Sociology has been established since the beginning of
the college in 1933.
Sociology as an independent subject came to be recognized only
after 1953.
Many illustrious teachers such as Prof T.S.Mallikarjunayya,
Dr.B.H.Amati, Prof M.R.Ullagaddi, Dr.Ranjana Godhi and
Prof.Aarati Yardi served in the department.

MISSION
The study of Sociology should enable the students to develop
right thinking which helps in understanding the principles of
humanity, right attitude that helps them to confront any
challenge in life, right values to enrich their social life.
