AI brain Agriculture

What we need to implement in

last year of the project?

1
Background

- The digitalization of agriculture and food systems can

have positive impacts in economic, social,
environmental and institutional terms, especially in the
post-pandemic recovery process.

History
Implemented Project (SATREPS)
Development and Adoption of Latin American Low-input Rice Production System Through
Genetic Improvement and Advanced Field-management Technologies
Establishing Low-input Rice Production Systems for Colombian Rice
Farmers

Issues faced by rice farmers

 There is no technical expertises (no one can use it even if introducing new
technology)
 Low productivity (poor water and fertilizer efficiency)
 Value chain has not been constructed
Solutions
Agricultural IoT solution 「 e-kakashi 」( PS solutions Co., Ltd. 、 Hitachi Ltd. )
Agricultural IoT solution "e-kakashi", which can be used for agricultural decision making and risk
hedging by collecting environmental information and growing information from the field, analyzing
and visualizing in the cloud, was first introduced overseas and demonstration experiment started
from June 2017.
In addition to irrigation and fertilization, monitoring has been carried out to reduce work
management and precision cultivation management.

Method – Data collection for Optimum harvesting -
Target : 670 small farmers who are working with Blanquita Mill
Hopefully, 25-30 % of phenological and working activity data
will be collected by developed App.
Sensor data: All 25 e-kakashi SN that were installed in IDB project

Collecting data :
【 Environment 】 “ Air temperature, Related Humidity, Solar radiation,
Soil temperature, Soil EC, Volumetric Water Content” every 10 minutes
by e-Kakashi platform
【 Phenology 】 Date of Sowing, Transplanting, Panicle initiation,
Heading, Flowering, Harvesting
【 Activities 】 Application date of fertilizer with amount and chemical
with amount, picture of filed and panicle at harvesting period
【 Post-harvesting 】 Grain yield, grain humidity and rice quality

• Registered farmers and 7 technical assistants will be supported to

collect data (see master sheet data format).
• To prevent omission of data collection, Once registered seeding data
in the smartphone app, the app will send a push notification to both
farmer and technical assistants at the appropriate time to collect
each event period
Method – Data analysis - 17/100
All the collected information is put into a master sheet
format and it will be analyzed by multiple regression
analysis using machine learning and feature engineering
using AI software in e-kakashi platform.
