Computer
Parts of a Desktop Computer
Motherboard- is the main circuit board of your
computer and is also known as the main board or
logic board.
Processor/CPU
Processor-A processor is the logic circuit that
responds and processes the basic instructions
that drive a computer.
CPU- Central processing unit
Hard drive
Hard drive- is a storage device for desktop
system unit stores Operating system,
applications and files.
Optical drive/dvd rom
DvD Rom- An optical drive is a type of
computer disk drive that reads and writes data.
Ram/Memory
Ram- A random-access memory device
allows data items to be read and written in
roughly the same amount of time.
Power supply
Power supply or PSU- is a hardware component
that supplies power to a computer.. It receives power
from an electrical outlet and converts the current from
AC to DC.
System case
System Case- it is called the chassis or
enclosure, is the metal and plastic box that
houses the main components of the computer.
Monitor
Monitor- The monitor is the piece of
device that displays the video and graphics,
monitor is a component that separate from the
basic  parts.
Keyboard
A computer keyboard is one of the primary input
device used with a computer that looks similar to
those found on electric typewriter. The modern
keyboard is based on the typewriter, a typing
device that was first developed and patented in 
1868 by Christopher Sholes. It was consists of
letters, symbols,numbers and some basic
commands.
Mouse
A computer mouse is a pointing device that detects two-
dimensional motion relative to a surface. This motion is
typically translated into the motion of a pointer on a
display, allows you to control of the GUI.

Video Card/Graphics card
A video card connects to the motherboard of a
computer system and generates output images
to display. It enhanced the quality of video
display of your computer.
Types of Video cards
• AGP- Accelerated Graphics port AGP
graphics cards are named for the same thing
PCI cards are the slot they connect to on a
motherboard. AGP cards can have four speeds,
the fastest being 8x.
•  PCI-Express- PCI-E cards are the most
advanced, connecting to the motherboard's
PCI-E slot. PCI-E graphics cards can be
accelerated to 16x.
LAN Card
The LAN (Local Area Network) card is a 'door' to the
network from a computer. Any type of network activity
requires a LAN cards are hardware devices that can be
added to a computer, or they can be integrated into the
main hardware of the computer.
Sound Card
A device that can be slotted into a computer to
allow the use of audio components for
multimedia applications.
Printers
A machine for printing text or pictures
onto paper, especially one linked to a
computer now a days it comes in a 3in1
version includes photocopy and scan.
Types of Printer
• Ink-jet: A type of printer that works by spraying
ionized ink at a sheet of paper. Magnetized plates in
the ink's path direct the ink onto the paper in the
desired shapes. Print quality DPI Dot Per
Inch Example 2440 x 1220 DPI.
• Laser : A type of printer that utilizes a laser beam to
produce an image on a drum. The light of the laser
alters the electrical charge on the drum wherever it
hits. Print quality DPI Dot Per Inch Example 4880 x
2440 DPI .
Router
A router is a device that forwards data packets
along networks. A router is connected to at least
two networks, commonly two LANs or WANs or
a LAN and its ISP's.
