Who is Satan?

 Satan is a rebellious creature that is against to God’s creation (Genesis 3)

 He’s default attitude is to ruin God’s good work and other creatures
 He is also called as a “Tempter”, “The Evil one”, “The Devil”(Greek means “The
Slanderer”)
 Facts: Satan is not a name hence, “Satan means the adversary” because he is anti
everything.
 Working through lies to drag us back into darkness and disorder.
 Once an angel of God but thrown out in heaven because of his pride to take over God’s
kingdom in Heaven. ( James 4:6)

But God continues to give us more grace. That’s why Scripture says,
 “God opposes those who are proud.
    But he gives grace to those who are humble.”

Their Characteristics and
hidden traits in this sinfully
world:
1. ( Satan is like a lion that DEVOURS)

 1 Peter 5:8- 8 Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a
roaring lion looking for someone to devour.
 (Devour- “Prey”, to eat hungrily and quickly)
2. Their working through spiritual battles.

 “Beware of the things that the naked eye can’t see”

 12 Our fight is not against human beings. It is against the rulers, the authorities and the
powers of this dark world. It is against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly world.
3. Satan’s battalion is like a thief that roams
at night

 A thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I have come so they may have life. I

want them to have it in the fullest possible way.

 God is the gate of proctection (John 10:7-8-9)- “7 So Jesus said again, “What I’m about to
tell you is true. I am like a gate for the sheep. 8 All who have come before me are thieves
and robbers. But the sheep have not listened to them. 9 I’m like a gate. Anyone who
enters through me will be saved. They will come in and go out. And they will find plenty
of food.
4. Satan’s last secretive traits(2 Corinthians 11:15)

 15 So it doesn’t surprise us that Satan’s servants also pretend to be serving God. They
will finally get exactly what they deserve.
 Their best place to pretend like a worshipper is in God’s temple.
 They are dressed and masked like a sheep but behind they are wolves who deceives ( 2
Corinthians 11:14-15)- “And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel
of light. So it is no surprise if his servants, also, disguise themselves as servants of
righteousness. Their end will correspond to their deeds.
RESOLUTIONS
God is still our hiding place of safety(Psalm
91:1)

 “He who rests in the shadow of the most high, will be kept safe by the mighty one”

11 The Lord and King says, “I myself will search for my sheep. I will look after them.
12 A shepherd looks after his scattered flock when he is with them. And I will look after my
sheep. I will save them from all the places where they were scattered on a dark and cloudy
day (Ezekiel 34:11-12)
Jeremiah 33:3- Call unto me and I will answer you, and show you mighty things which you
do not know.
God is still the Peace and love of the Heaven’s
and the Earth.

 14 Christ himself is our peace. He has made Jews and Gentiles into one group of
people. He has destroyed the hatred that was like a wall between us.
 If there is no hatred, there will be love to one another
 (John 15:12: My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you.)
How can we diminish these acts of evil into
our lives?

 1. Be watchful and pray- “18 At all times, pray by the power of the Spirit. Pray all kinds
of prayers. Be watchful, so that you can pray. Always keep on praying for all the Lord’s
people.
 Do not trust anyone right away, instead test his heart and mind. (Ecclesiastes 3:18- “I said
to myself concerning the sons of men, “God has surely tested them in order for them to
see that they are but beasts”)
Wear God’s full armor all the time.(Ephesians
6:13-17)

 13 So put on all of God’s armor. Evil days will come. But you will be able to stand up
to anything. And after you have done everything you can, you will still be standing. 14
So remain strong in the faith. Put the belt of truth around your waist. Put the armor of
godliness on your chest. 15 Wear on your feet what will prepare you to tell the good
news of peace. 16 Also, pick up the shield of faith. With it you can put out all the
flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Put on the helmet of salvation. And take the sword
of the Holy Spirit. The sword is God’s word.
