INTRODUCTION

• The Rehabilitation and reconstruction of civil

infrastructure are becoming a major problem world wide.
• New materials and improved cost-effective techniques
rehabilitating and strengthening in an innovative manner
are urgently sought.
• Alternative solutions such as the usage of recycled or
waste materials to attain sustainable development in
infrastructure construction.

01. Strengthening and ELSEVIER Materials used
Retrofitting of RC Glass Fiber Reinforced Polymer (GFRP) Used
Beams Using Fiber in the form of plates and laminates
Reinforced Polymers Casting
(2019) Size:100 mm x 150 mm and 1100 mm
Internal longitudinal steel : 4 # 10 mm Ø
Shear reinforcement : 6 mm Ø 175 mm C/C
and cover is 25 mm.
Test
1.UTM
2.Two point loading
Conclusion
1.In service load the strength gain factor of
retrofitted beam is 2 % higher than the
control beam.
2.The using GFRP sheet retrofitted beams
improves its ductility significantly. The value
of maximum ductility factor achieved was
1.35
3.The stiffness of the GFRP retrofitted beam is
increased 59% compared to that of the
control beam
