DEFINITION

The simple present tense is when you use a verb to tell about
things that happen continually in the present, like every day, every
week, or every month. We use the simple present tense for anything
that happens often or is factual.
EXAMPLE :

1.He goes to school.


2.He loves to play basketball. 12. She goes to work by car.
3.Does he go to school? 13. It doesn't rain here in the summer.
4.She writes an e-mail to her best friend. 14. We cook every day.
5.He thinks he is very handsome. 15. We go to the gym club together.
6.It usually rains every day here. 16. You have a big house.
7. It smells very delicious in the kitchen. 17. Do we know each other?
8.We generally sing songs all together. 18. He doesn't teach math.
9. We go to a gallery every Sunday. 19. Cats hate water.
10. Does he write an email? 20. Every child likes an icecream.
11. The sun rises at the east.

THE SIMPLE PRESENT IS USED WITH ADVERBS
LIKE

- Always : I always come to school by car


- Often: I don't come here very often
- Usually: He usually eats breakfast at
7:00 AM
- Sometimes: Sometimes I go to party
- Rarely: she rarely cooks
- Never: He is never late for class
- Every day: They sleep early every day
To form the Simple Present we add -s to theinfinitive of the verb in the 3rd
person singular (he,she, it)

E.g. I live >He/she/it lives


 I sing >He/she/it sings
BUT WHEN THE VERB ENDS IN

a) -0, -ss, -sh, -ch, -x we add -es

E.g- 1 go > He/she/it goes


I kiss > He/she/it kisses
I watch> He/she/it watches
I wash > He/she/it washes
I fix > He/she/it fixes
