➯How do specific humidity and relative humidity vary seasonally in your region?
Why do you expect the relative humidity to remain nearly constant during global
warming?

● Maximum specific humidity is in the season of monsoon ● Maximum relative humidity is in the season of
around august month i.e 0.02(g/kg)
monsoon around august month i.e 73.03%
● Minimum specific humidity is in the winter season around ● Minimum relative humidity is in the summer season
Feb i.e 0.01(g/kg) around may month i.e 23.29%
● It increases in summer ,reaches a peak in monsoon and ● It decreases in Summer, reaches a peak in monsoon
then decreases in the winter and then again increases in the winter.

● As per Clausius-Clapeyron equation, the air holds more moisture, nearly 4 percent for every degree Fahrenheit. So as the earth warms, air
can hold more water vapours and hence RH also increases therefore relative humidity will remain nearly same during the global
warming.
➯Is there a trend in specific humidity and relative humidity in your region?

• Yes, these is a trend in specific and relative humidity. Both have been increasing overall despite being having
fluctuations over short period time.
➯How specific humidity changes with temperature change? Explain seasonal
changes between these variables.

• From january to mid of june the temperature rises and with

increase in the temperature the specific humidity also rises as
the ability of air to hold moisture increases with higher
temperature.
• After that despite of decrease in temperature initially there is
increase in humidity as water vapor increases in atmosphere
due to monsoon.
• After certain period of time(from september) the water vapors
settle down resulting in humidity decrease and due to winter
season the temperature also decreases.
➯Are the number of seasonal peaks the same in temperature, specific humidity and
relative humidity?

(1) Specific humidity has one peaks one during the monsoon season.
(2) Temperature has one peak during the summer season.
(3) Relative humidity has two peak during the monsoon season and winter season

So, the number of seasonal peaks is not same in temperature, specific humidity and relative humidity.
➯If the number of peaks is different, explain why

Relative humidity has two peaks whereas specific humidity and temperature have only one peak, this
is due to the reason that in winter season the temperature decreases, resulting in reduced moisture
holding capacity of air, which gets saturated easily.
