OTHER ISSUES

CONCERNING
ENVIRONMENT
Other issues concerning environment

More people require more food, water, sanitation, homes, public services, and amenities – but
our Earth is struggling to cope. Populations of wild species have plummeted, global
temperatures are rising, our seas are full of plastic and forests are disappearing.

These include environmental issues including pollution, population growth, waste

management, and the greenhouse effect, among others. To achieve a balance between man and
the environment, many environmental protection measures are being implemented at the
individual, organizational, and governmental levels.
Climate change is the big environmental problem that humanity will
face over the next decade, but it isn't the only one. We'll take a look
at some of them from water shortages and loss of biodiversity to
waste management and discuss the challenges we have ahead of us.
These include pollution, overpopulation, waste disposal,
climate change, global warming, the greenhouse effect, etc.
Various environment protection programs are being
practised at the individual, organizational and government
levels with the aim of establishing a balance between man
and the environment.
Our environment is constantly changing, and as our environment
changes so does the need to become increasingly aware of the
environmental issues that are causing these changes. With a
massive incre case in natural disasters, warming and cooling
periods, and different types of weather patterns, people need to
be a lot more cautious with the way they lead their lives in
conjunction with the types of environmental issues our planet is
facing.
Some of the current environmental issues
that require urgent attention are:

Climate Change
Global Warming
Water Pollution
Air Polution
Solid Waste Management
Deforestation
Overpopulation
CLIMATE CHANGE

Climate change refers to long-term shifts in

temperatures and weather patterns. These shifts
may be natural, such as through variations in the
solar cycle. But since the 1800s, human activities
have been the main driver of climate change,
primarily due to burning fossil fuels like coal, oil
and gas.
GLOBAL WARMING

Global warming is the long-term heating of Earth's

surface observed since the pre-industrial period
(between 1850 and 1900) due to human activities,
primarily fossil fuel burning, which increases heat-
trapping greenhouse gas levels in Earth's atmosphere.
This term is not interchangeable with the term "climate
change."
WATER POPULATION

Water pollution is the contamination of water

sources by substances which make the water
unusable for drinking, cooking, cleaning,
swimming, and other activities. Pollutants include
chemicals, trash, bacteria, and parasites. All forms
of pollution eventually make their way to water.
AIR POPULATION

Air pollution consists of chemicals or particles in

the air that can harm the health of humans,
animals, and plants. It also damages buildings.
Pollutants in the air take many forms.
SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT

Solid waste management is extremely important in

your community mainly because it will prevent your
household from experiencing the hazardous
outcomes of solid waste material. By getting rid of
most of these waste matter properly, you can
actually protect your loved ones along with the
environment.
DEFORESTATION

Deforestation is the purposeful clearing of forested land.

Throughout history and into modern times, forests have
been razed to make space for agriculture and animal
grazing, and to obtain wood for fuel, manufacturing, and
construction. Deforestation has greatly altered
landscapes around the world.
OVERPOPULATION

More people means an increased demand for food,

water, housing, energy, healthcare, transportation,
and more. And all that consumption contributes to
ecological degradation, increased conflicts, and a
higher risk of large-scale disasters like pandemics.
