NSTP ACT OF 2001


The NSTP was created by virtue of Republic Act 9163 also
known as the National Service Training Program Act of
2001. As provided in the law, the National Service Training
Program (NSTP) is a program aimed at enhancing civic
consciousness and defense preparedness in the youth by
developing the ethics of service and patriotism while
undergoing training in any of its three (3) program
components. Its various components are specially designed
to enhance the youth’s active contribution to the general
welfare.

NATIONAL SERVICE TRAINING PROGRAM

Who are required to take NSTP?

Students, male and female, of any baccalaureate


degree course or at least two (2)-year technical-
vocational courses in public and private educational
institutions shall be required to complete one (1) of
the NSTP components as requisite for graduation
(RA 9163). In the university, NSTP is offered in the
first year.

Learning Modality, Duration, Equivalent Course Unit

HOURS
Each of the NSTP components, NSTP I and NSTP II, shall be undertaken
for an academic period of two (2) semesters for 54 training hours per
semesters. It shall be credited three (3) units per semester.
CLASSES
Classes are held on Saturdays. School Year 2022-202, the NSTP will be
offered and delivered in flexible learning modality. Majority will be in face-
to-face but with alternative learning modality is provided in case of changes
in the alert level status of the city/region.
PRE-REQUISITE
The successful completion of the NSTP is a prerequisite for graduation
