Creative Writing
C re a • Original, artistic, self-expressive
• Also called Imaginative Writing
or Literature
Why should you write? What benefits
do you get from writing?
 Writing fulfills your basic need to associate with other people. The
more you write, the more you are able to establish a connection with
others. Also, the better you understand them.
 Writing helps you become a better thinker and learner. When you
write, you share ideas and feelings with others. These ideas and
feelings are deep within you, and they surface when you write.
 Writing develops your performance in school. Since all subjects
require written reports, writing helps you analyze concepts and recall
information.
Writers are not
born. They are
made. And they
get better with
age, as they
read more
books and
acquire more
knowledge and
experiences.
