AL NAHYAN (1918-2004)

His Highness Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan is

known as the Father of the UAE.

 He was the ruler of Abu Dhabi and President of the

country for more than three decades since its founding.

Saeed Al Maktoum

His Highness Sheikh Rashid Bin Saeed Al

Maktoum was the Vice President and Prime
Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai for
more than 30 years. Known as the Father of
modern Dubai,
His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin
Mohammed Al Qasimi

Ruler of Sharjah from 1965 to 1972.

One of H.H. Sheikh Khalid’s notable
early developments was the formation
of the General Security and Police
Force in 1967.
 SHEIKH RASHID BIN
HUMAID AL NUAIMI
(1902-1981)

 Ruler of Ajman in 1928 and continued to rule

the emirate for more than five decades. 
His leadership saw key developments in the
city, from becoming the first emirate to issue
its own passports to the provision of free
health care. 
 SHEIKH AHMED BIN
RASHID AL MUALLA(1902-
1981)
Ruler of Umm al Quwain at the age of 18, was
able to achieve stability in the emirate despite
limited resources.

His long list of achievements includes the creation

of the first school and hospital in the emirate, as
well as the establishment of the police and public
security department. 
 SHEIKH SAQR BIN
MOHAMMED AL QASIMI
(1918 – 2010)

He became the ruler of Ras Al Khaimah

in 1948.
His contributions are numerous,
especially in the field of education. He is
credited with having opened the first
girls’ school in the emirate. 
SHEIKH MOHAMMED BIN
HAMAD AL SHARQI (1908-
1974)
The ruler of Fujairah from 1937 to 1974.
During the 1960s, Fujairah saw its first primary school,
first dispensary and first library. Sheikh Mohammed also
formalized the Shari’a court system and laid the
foundations of the airport and road network in
Fujairah.
