In January 2021, the Better Health campaign returns with


positive and motivating messages to help us all take action to
improve our health. To help people feel better, the campaign will
demonstrate simple steps they can take. Life in 2020 has been
fundamentally diff erent for almost everyone. Many of our
audience members refocused their attention on family, friends,
and health as a result of this event. Eighty percent of adults plan
to make at least one change to their health and wellbeing in
2021, according to recent research.

Monkeypox
Monkeypox is a rare infectious disease, but there are a
number of cases in the UK. This number is rising.

Monkeypox is a viral infection usually associated with


t r a v e l t o We s t A f r i c a . I t i s u s u a l l y a m i l d s e l f - l i m i t i n g
illness, spread by very close contact with someone with
monkeypox and most people recover within a few weeks.

The virus can spread if there is close contact between

can catch and pass on Monkeypox.

Some of the symptoms of Monkeypox are:

- Unusual rashes or lesions (on face or genital area)

- Fever

- Muscle aches

- Chills and exhaustion

- Swollen lymph nodes


Quit Smoking
Information

S toptober is a great oppor tunity to enc ourage smokers to make a quit


attempt and help them sus tain it throughout October and beyond.

T his year ’s c ampaign will reach smokers through a range of media


including radio, v ideo on de mand and out-of-hous e display : with an
e mphasis on targeting smoke rs aged 25 to 50 from lower socio-economic
groups who work in routine and manual jobs. T he messaging of the
c ampaign will be “You’ve got what it takes to quit this S toptobe r ”,
e nc ouraging smoke rs to quit not only by promoting the benefi ts of
quitting, but also to give them confi dence that they can quit suc cessfully.
