FRAMEWORK: 7

• The overall framework for interactions with this client is

dependent on which lens of the program we are examining:
• Healing Minds: Person-centered and Person-in-self
perspective. Mr. Leonard has used cognitive behavioral
therapy,  EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and
Reprocessing), and clinical hypnosis to treat her severe trauma
and self-worth concerns.
• CCC / Janice Faye's Ranch: Person-centered and Person-in-
environment. The staff has conducted
psychosocial assessments to determine where her strengths &
weaknesses are. This has created a better overall picture of
the client's situation in order to create a realistic plan of
action.
• Cumberland County Worth Court / Parole:
If "compassionate law and order" approach existed it would be
that.
INTERVIEWER'S REFLECTION:
• Disclaimer: Most of this information is second-hand information from my field supervisor. I have had 8
minimal interaction with the client as it is a clinical environment.

• What are some biases you had going into the interview?
• I had assumed that the trauma of the sexual trafficking would be more visible and apparent. There
is this societal idea of how a traumatized person behaves and that they are "broken." I was
surprised by her strength and did not expect her to be as happy and caring.
• What were some value differences between you and the client?
• We have grown up in completely different environments. She seems to value her family
significantly less than I do but given her past trauma with her family it is understandable.
• What events or life experiences have shaped them into the person they are?
• Growing up in a single-parents household. Growing up in a lower socioeconomic status.
Struggling to find jobs and watching her mother struggle with money growing up.
• What is the staff recommendation about diagnosis, Interventions or treatment?
• Staff recommended trauma-informed animal therapy as well as standard counseling.
• What does research say on their diagnosis/problem/treatment?
• Research shows the Cognitive-behavioral therapy can often treat depression and anxiety that is
caused her self-worth issues.
• What changes do recommend for the agency or service (Needs of agency, changes, and rights issues)?
Report those to supervisor.
• I believe that she should be in a residential treatment program so that she does not have to worry
about paying rent and making enough money while she works through her trauma.
