TABLE SKIRTING
 It is a cloth or paper draped from the edge of the table to the floor. It is the art
of clothing the table to cover it’s undesirable parts.
FUNCTIONS IN TABLE SKIRTING
1. Use to cover the legs of the table from view in a decorative way.
2. Gives elegance to the tables usually use in celebrations.
3. Creates uninterrupted and attractive visual impression.
4. Provides complete modesty for those people seated at the table.
5. Use in banquets, business or formal meetings, party tables and theme
events

THE GUIDELINES
1. Make sure that the table legs are sturdy.
2. Make sure that the lines are well pressed and clean.
3. If possible pins and thumbtacks must be visible.
4. Observe the distance of the skirting cloth (floor length).
5. Apply the balance and harmony of design.
6. Appy sanitation and safety at all times.

BASIC TABLE SKIRTING PROCEDURE
The Basic
- Table skirts come in many sizes to fit rectangular , square or round tables.
- Some table skirt are intended to cover only three sides of a square
rectangular table, while other made to cover all four sides.

STEPS IN TABLE SKIRTING

1. Set the top cloth
2. Secure the top cloth using the thumbtacks, start first with one side.
3. Then, do the same with skirting cloth , start with the basic design.

DIFFERENT KINDS OF TABLE SKIRTING
1. Gathered or shirred
– are a popular choice due to the simplicity and reasonable cost.
- is a fabric drape drawn together by threads along the top hem providing
extra body to the skirt , a tighter garter gives a table skirt full, ruffled appearance.
2. Knife pleat
- one of the most common kinds of pleating for table skirts
- a series of narrow , sharp creases folded in the same direction
- is a classic choice that is the least expensive of the pleated variety.
3. Box pleat
- is made from a sequence of back-to-back knife pleats.
- give the table neat, tailored appearance.


4. French box pleat

- provide even more volume than standard box pleats.
- narrower than regular box pleat, giving the bottom of the table skirting a
fuller appearance
- work equally well in casual or elegant setting.
5. Plastic
- vinyl fabric can be fashioned into simple gathers or knife pleats.
- vinyl table skirting is cost-effective way to dress tables for any occasion.
6. Fringe
- is a playful addition to party tables. Metallic , tissue and raffia fringe skirts
have a number of imaginative uses.
- works as hula table skirting, tiki bar , draping and funky wall décor.
7. Swag
- are commonly attached with overlap clips that will not flatten or damage the
table skirt pleating
- easy way to dress up an otherwise plain table skirt.


BANQUET SET UP STYLES
The different types of banquet style setups are:
1. THEATER STYLE
• Theater style is ideal for lectures,

presentations, and group meetings of
any size
• It consists of chairs in rows facing a
panel table or podium at the front of the
room
• This meeting setup is suitable for half-
day meeting or meeting not more than
4 hours

2. CLASSROOM STYLE
• Classroom style is ideal for

teaching events, testing, or other
meetings where participants will be
writing
• This setup consists of 6-foot tables

with up to 3 chairs facing a panel
table or podium at the front

3. BOARDROOM STYLE:
• Boardroom style use for formal

meeting, the standard is using two
Oblong tables and use two half-
moon tables at the edge
• The meaning of round edge is the

meeting participant are under one
organization, the head of
organization can be place at the
round edge

4. U-SHAPE STYLE:
• Similar to conference room style,

a U-shape setup will help
facilitate discussion with
participants facing each other, but
with one end up, U-shape setup
is ideal for seminars and group
meetings with presentations

5. ROUND TABLE STYLE
• Round table style for informal meeting

• You can use 150 centimeters or 180
centimeters diameter roundtable depend
on the participant
• It’s suitable for workshop seminar that
needs discussion and interaction between
the speaker and among participant

6. HOLLOW SQUARE STYLE
• Setup: Tables in square

shape w/ chairs on outside
• Best for: Events where focal
point is in the center and/or
interaction between
participants is encouraged
