Answers
•Biases: I assumed client was a mother, but she has never birthed
children. I thought Ms. Smith was married but she is currently
divorced.
•Values: Religious upbringing and life expectations
•Life Experiences: The relationship with her ex-husband was
tumultuous and abusive which led to alcohol abuse and depression.
The experience of the abusive relationship helped evolve into low
self-esteem and feelings of worthlessness.
•Staff Recommendations: SEBHS suggested Ms. Smith partake in
self-confidence and self-esteem building activities, see a therapist and
start a pharmaceutical regimen of depression medication.
•Research: Studies suggests depression can be caused by life-altering
events and may be treated with medication.
•Changes for agency: Incorporate more self-esteem and self-
confidence activities or support groups.
