FOOT SURVEILLANCE
DETECTION
Techniques Use to Test for
 Stopping abruptly and looking for the rear.
Casually looking around.
 Reversing course and retracing steps.
 Boarding buses and alighting just before the
bus leaves.
 Riding short distances on a bus.
 Entering a building and leaving immediately via
another exit.
Continuation:

 Stopping abruptly after turning a cover.


 Watching reflections in shop windows.
 Walking slowing and rapidly at alternate
Intervals.
 Dropping a paper to see if anyone retrieves it.
 Stopping to tie a shoestring and looking
behind.
 Arrangement with another member to be in a
shop or other places to watch for possible
detection.
Techniques use to Evade Detection
 Jumping off a bus/train just as doors are about
to close.
 Leaving a building through the rear/side exit.
 Losing oneself in crowd.
 Entering theatres and immediately leaving
through an exit.
 Using decoys.
Continuation:

 Using traps. eg. use of dead ends or blind alley


 Taking the last taxi at a stand.
 Changing clothing.
