What is data collection?
- Data collection is the process of
gathering and measuring information
on targeted variables in an
established systematic fashion, which
then enables one to answer relevant
questions and evaluate outcomes.
- There are two sources of data
collection techniques: primary and
secondary collections.
Primary Data Collection:
-uses surveys, experiments or direct
observations.
Secondary Data Collection:
-it may be conducted by collecting
information from a diverse source of
documents or electronically stored
information, census and market
studies. This is also referred to as
“data mining”.
