years old?
2. How many in class is an only
child?
3. How many in the class whose
favorite subject is Math?
4. How many in the class whose
favorite fruit is apple?
What is data collection?
- Data collection is the process of
gathering and measuring information
on targeted variables in an
established systematic fashion, which
then enables one to answer relevant
questions and evaluate outcomes.
- There are two sources of data
collection techniques: primary and
secondary collections.
Primary Data Collection:
-uses surveys, experiments or direct
observations.
Secondary Data Collection:
-it may be conducted by collecting
information from a diverse source of
documents or electronically stored
information, census and market
studies. This is also referred to as
“data mining”.
Study the example of data collected and make
frequency or total table and then answer the
following questions.
CHESKA IIII-IIII-IIII
EDNA
IIII-IIII-IIII
IIII-IIII-III
IIII-IIII-IIII-
RON
IIII
IIII-IIII-IIII-
IIII
ROJAN
IIII-IIII-IIII-
IIII-II
1. How many votes did Edna
get?
2. How many votes did Cheska
get?
3. How many members voted
Ron?
4. How many votes did Rojan
get?
5. How members were voted?
Study the given
table and make a
frequency table
of the data
collected and
answer the
questions.

Aldrin has a part-time job at the Body Fit Gym. His boss wants to know the
ages of the teenagers in the center’s taekwondo class. Aldrin records the
ages of everyone in the class. Below are the ages of the teenagers. Organize
the data using a table and answer the questions.
