HOSPITALITY

During the first half of 2020, we are living in a

different world. The world started to change from
Wuhan (one of the biggest industrial centers of China)
in January 2020 when carbon and other greenhouse
gas emissions started to fall dramatically.

According to the World Travel and Tourism Council (2020), almost one
HOSPITALITY
million jobs are lost daily in the travel and tourism industry.

During the hardest period of the pandemic (late March and April). They
estimate that up to 75 million jobs are at immediate risk, depending on
the period of the pandemic and international lockdown (World Travel &
Tourism Council. 2020). At the same time, closing hotels not only
endangers the wellbeing of employees but also prevents the industry
from creating welfare for other stakeholders like their customers, local
communities, and others.

• Does the purpose stated indicate the variables of interest and the relationship(s)
between those variables?

The purpose stated in this study is very clear that they want to emphasize the
Social Sustainability in COVID-19 Crisis in Hotel Industry.

• Does the purpose statement afford the reader a reasonable clear focus of the
study?

All objectives were stated and discussed in this study, and anyone who reads it
will understand and be aware of the events that occurred throughout the outbreak.

• Does the problem appear researchable (can it be investigated through data

collection and analysis)?
Overall problem is researchable and easy to find.

CHAPTER 3: METHODOLOGY

METHODOLOGY

The study design was conducted in survey.The purpose of the research is to find and
explore different socially sustainable strategic solutions from the hotel industry .The
comparative design entails the study using two or more contrasting cases. It is based on the
idea that social phenomena can be understood better when it is described by comparing
several different but still interrelated cases.

The independent samples were conducted to identify the different situation of the hotel in
other place. hotels that choose the cases for empirical studies we applied purposive
sampling, which implies that the sampling should be conducted with reference to the goals
of the research .Therefore, we first of all identified hotels from all over the world based on
the main selection

The researcher used and focus interview because they want to have a wide interview and
knowing about the hotel situation around the world the respondent is work in a hotel or hotel
guests and have a expriences.

We chose the approach of online semi-structured interviews as one of our data collection
method and we conducted one interview for each case.

 DATA ANALYSIS

The thematic analysis method has been chosen for our data analysis.By combining
and comparing thedata gathered from different cases we identified commons and
differences between diverse strategic approaches, which helped us to answer the
main research question
