Activities for the week :Summer Theme
• Make nature paint brushes :go out to the garden and pick up
leaves , flowers , and paint it. This is good activity so that children
can recognize and feel things available in natural environment
• Collecting things from the garden like stones , leaves , twigs ,
flowers and bring it to the classroom .It can be used for number
of things such as counting , sticking on the paper
• Have a beach day : let children try their hands on the sand or
kinetic sand ask them to scoop it and fill it the bottle or use
construction toys thereby developing their motor skills and sand
can also be used as sensory bins for children to explore also this
can be used as way to teach about sea animals and having
umbrella race .
• Using playdoh for identifying color :play doh can
be use for identifying different colors and it can
be used to develop fine motor skills .
• Making ice cream and decorating it :children
can be asked to make ice cream of different
colors using playdoh and decorating with
sprinkles which is really helpful in enhancing
their grasping skills and we can take it forward
as a role play of selling ice cream and sharing it .
• Sorting activity :sorting is a good method of
teaching kids to differentiate color , shapes
and can also be used for counting .Things
collected from the garden can be used for this
activity and also pom poms .
• Including summer fruits for learning :summer
fruits such as water melon , pineapple can be
used for arts and as well as literacy such as
counting seeds in the melon .
• Outdoor activities :practicing throwing and
catching ball, running race activity and
bicycling to ensure their muscles develop and
strengthen.

The weeks schedule was planned so that it can
focus on all the areas of development of a
child and it was also planned so that children
can have fun while learning .
