AVOIDING

DISTRACTIONS
Distraction is shifting our
attention from something of
greater importance to
something of lesser
importance.
It’s harming our ability to
listen and think carefully.
It can affect our
relationships and
responsibilities.
We are distractible
because of our fallen,
selfish nature.
The Causes of
Distraction
Environmental factors:
1. Poor nutrition
2. Unhealthy family systems
3. Culture
4. Technology forces (such
as the constant stream of
media)
God allows distraction to
strengthen our SELF-
CONTROL.
Every minute we’re
distracted is a minute
we can never get back,
so it’s no wonder this is
Satan’s favorite tactic to
keep us separated from
Christ.
Satan will do anything
to keep us from growing
a deeper relationship
with our Lord.
1. Seek God first in the morning.
2. Choose a Focus for the Day.
3. Pursue Contentment.
4. Be intentional with your time.
5. Read the Bible every day.
6. Remember your Identity in
Christ.
