the artistic movement called
Impressionism. Born in Paris, on
November 14, 1840.
Despite the many trips that he will
make to be inspired by the different
French landscapes, it will finally be in
1890 when he decides to settle in the
house in which he lived in Giverny,
and whose gardens will inspire him to
create works so famous today as the
series of the Nenúfares. On December

Description – Analysis - Interpretation

The Nenúfares series by Claude Monet was produced

between the years 1898 and 1926. Almost three decades of
the painter's life were dedicated to this motif, inspired by his
garden in Giverny. Starring these aquatic flowers capture
artistic impressions of his beloved garden.
Close to abstraction through the elimination of the line and
the vaporization of the contours, Monet is less complacent
but more focused on himself, which could have been the
cause of the little attention that these monumental pieces
deserved at the time.
He thought of a concept and the conditions necessary to
appreciate it. We could almost say that Monet comes very
remotely close to an installation idea.
