Rationale
Nowadays, upon battling the pandemic because of the so-called COVID-19, educating learners become a
great challenge for us educators. Delivering learning among learners is somewhat different from what it had to
be. Before, we have face to face classes in which we can easily assess and guide our learners upon evaluating
them. But now, that way has changed. It seemed that our way of educating them is turning upside down and
really, it’s a struggle among all of us.

Therefore, this reading program is being innovated and updated to fit to the needs of time; to suit to the
current type of our learning modality which is modular learning.

Strengthening Understanding through Guided Activities (SUGA), addressed learners comprehension


towards providing them ample activities that could help improve their comprehension level. Of course, through
the guidance of their parents at home, or their teachers during home visitation. We call this Parent-Teacher
Partnership in order to achieve a common goal.

 
Project SUGA is a powerful tool of Tolingon Elementary School, Mainit-II District
which aims to empower learners through providing them appropriate and guided activities.
This could be achieved through sharing of responsibility and strengths to address issues and
concerns in the delivery of basic education services as inspired by the principle of
Strengthening Understanding through Guided Activities.
Project SUGA values learners’ performance by continuously developing and intensifying
their deep understanding in various subjects. Performance Advancement and Excellence is
its guidepost in building a vibrant and flourishing community of quality learning.

Objectives
Project SUGA aims to empower learners through providing them appropriate and guided
activities that will:
¨ strengthen understanding by developing essential instructional supervision, strategic
planning and utilization of resources;
¨ Provide varied opportunities for slow learners to enhance their performance holistically
and enrich those average and fast learners;
¨ boost the pedagogical competencies of the teachers through the introduction of
innovative strategies in the development of the 21st century skills among the learners in
support of the goals of the K to 12 Curriculum.

The objectives of Project SUGA will be achieved through the following holistic methodologies:
