• It is the 8th largest state by area, and the 11th
largest by population.
• It neighbours the states of West Bengal
and Jharkhand to the north, Chhattisgarh
to the west, Andhra Pradesh to the south,
• The language of Odisha is Odia, which is
one of the Classical Languages of India.
• Now we will talk about some cities of
Odisha.
About Bhubneshwar
• Bhubaneswar is categorised as a Tier-2 city.
Bhubaneswar and Rourkela are the only cities in smart
city mission from Odisha.
• Although the modern city of Bhubaneswar was
formally established in 1948, the history of the areas
in and around the present-day city can be traced to
the 7th century BCE and earlier.
• capital and largest city of the Indian state of Odisha.
About Puri
1. a coastal city and a municipality in the
state of Odisha in eastern India.
2. Puri district and is situated on the Bay of
Bengal, 60 kilometres south of the state
capital of Bhubaneswar.
