“Worry”

Jason Agus
12 Science
Worry

• Worry can be defined as a state of anxiety and uncertainty. Whether we

realise it or not, we are all prone to the feeling of worry at different levels. If
we allow this worry to continue, it might end up crippling us, in the sense
that we become controlled by things that are not in our control.
• In the present time, we also tend to be easily worried by uncertainties or in
situations where we don’t have certain answers ,this desire to be certain and
knowledgeable in all situations is stronger due to the fact that we live in a
time during which information can easily be accessed at the tip of our hands.
Worry

• As followers of Christ, we may end facing more uncertainties in life,

which will end frustrating us if we continue to worry about our future.
• Our Worries not only cripple us, but prevents us from fulfilling the destiny
that Christ has set for us, to be his “strong warriors”.
How Do We Stop Worrying?
Philippians 4:6-8

“do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and

supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to
God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will
guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Finally, brothers,
whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is
pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any
excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these
things.”
Taking The First Step

• If we see the Bible verse shown previously,Paul was not at a very good
situation.Yet, he dared to make that statement because he was confident that
God is able to control things that are out of his control.
• Sometimes, although we are aware of the abilities of God, we focus so much
on the external and worldly factors that we tend to try to solve the worries
that we have through our own efforts. As we try to do this, we continue to
focus more on the worries that we have about our future, when God has told
us not to do so.We have assurance that God has set the best future for us.
Finding The True Source Of Peace

• We need to realise that God is the only source of true peace for us. We can
only have peace when we start a relationship with Him and surrender our
future according to His plans for us.
• When we try to find peace in this world, we will only end up finding
temporary peace and only numb our worries by using worldly
objects. However, we might also risk slumping down towards a spiral of
addiction towards certain worldly things. (Ex:Drugs)
Luke 22:41,42,44

“And he withdrew from them about a stone’s throw, and knelt down and
prayed, saying, “Father, if you are willing, remove this cup from me.
Nevertheless, not my will, but yours, be done.”And being in an agony he
prayed more earnestly; and his sweat became like great drops of blood
falling down to the ground.”
Applying God’s Peace In Our Daily Life

• After we have received God’s peace, we will continue to face problems in

our life; however, this time we are aware of the ways we can stop worries
from overcoming our life.
• The First response is to always provide private time with God, for us to
come to Him and not only that, we also give thanks to Him.
• We should also remember that we should not force things to go according
to our plans, but that His will be done in our life.
