WHAT IS LEADERSHIP?

• Leadership is a process of influencing and directing activities of


members toward goal accomplishment.
WHAT IS A LEADER?

• A leader is someone that who has commanding influence to a


group, organization, or country.

• A leader is an individual that leads, motivates, influences, and


inspires people that is under his/her command to take action.

ORGANIZING

• A leader brings individual together to


handle task efficiently using their
collective abilities
PLANNING

• A leader understands the importance


of setting goals, strategies and
creating a roadmap or guide on how
and when to utilize resources for the
activities.
MOBILIZATION

• A leader encourages members to be


engaged in work to be able to
accomplish the set goals of the team
• To gather people for a specific
purpose.
CONTROLLING INTERNAL RELATIONSHIPS

• A leader acts as a mediator to help


resolve conflicts within the group.
DIRECTION AND GUIDANCE

• A leader offers guidance to the


members and keeps them moving
forward in the right path as they
make their best efforts
PROBLEM SOLVER

• A leader is ready to face both


expected and unexpected problems
that the group might or might not
encounter with alternative strategy
plans for certain situations.
ROLE MODEL

• A leader serves as a source of


inspiration for his/her members as
he/she is expected to possess all the
qualities and capabilities required for
conquering various challenges.
MOTIVATION

• A leader inspires and motivates


members and uplifts or keeps their
spirits up to keep them moving and
to make them do the best that they
could.
GROUP REPRESENTATION

• A leader acts as a representative of


the group.
FACILITATION

• A leader facilitates members towards


accomplishment of planned tasks by
influencing and shaping their
behaviors.
LEADERSHIP STYLES

• Autocratic

• Democratic

• Laissez-faire
AUTOCRATIC

• A leader that always tells people


how and what to do things without
the advice of others

• Has high confidence and dependency


on himself/herself

• Strong-willed, domineering and


aggressive to some extent

• Encourages its people or


constituents to express their ideas
and feelings

• His/her action depends on the
