INTRODUCTION
Park a car under the sun for a couple of hours and it gets very hot. It would be too hot to get
into. This is due to the design and the material of the car which is closed thus trapping hot air.
Due to the hot air in car it is not comfortable to sit in the car. On top of that, many other
problems also occur such as decreasing the lifespan of the car interior, dangerous to pets or
human in car and wastage of air condition as the user would switch it to maximum level to
get rid of the hot air. This project is done to find solution to overcome these problems for car
cabin ventilation system using solar energy.
PROBLEM STATEMENT
The temperature inside a car in summer season in India can rise up to 40 oC more than the outside
temperature and pose a serious threat for passengers in the car, when it is parked outside during
summer. The increase in temperature of the car cabin is due to various modes of heat transfer such
as conduction, convection and radiation. However, to reduce the temperature inside car cabin
conventionally use AC which consume engine power & it is more economical. Use of fossil fuel
sources had over the years been the result of an increased damage to the environment over the
years. Excessive heat. The main objective to reduce car cabin temperature using non-conventional
energy.
OBJECTIVE
1. Design an effective and inexpensive system to reduce the temperature inside the vehicle
cabin.
2. Increase the air flow rate and decrease the steady state temperature inside the car cabin.
3. Minimum or zero fuel consumption for cabin cooling during the vehicle is on idle
condition.
Heat Reduction in Car Cabin In this project aim of the project is to calculate

Source of Energy passenger car. By considering all load factors
like heat gain by window glass, roof, engine,
persons, audio system.
A new ventilation system aimed at regulating temperature inside a parked car was designed that employs
exhaust fan, temperature sensors and electronic control circuitry, under the constraint that ignition system is
off. Experimental investigations were done on a prototype of a car-cabin, which was designed and fabricated.
The experimental investigation is performed on a prototype model of car with given dimensions and material
properties as mentioned in design. The exhaust fan is fitted at the required locations. The temperature sensor
is fixed as identified inside temperature of the car & (outside) to measure the ambient temperature. A
microcontroller-based program is developed in such a way that, when the difference between the set
temperatures of the sensor located inside the car and the ambient temperature of the car exceeds a specified
value; the exhaust fan would be powered on using the batteries. Then the fan would run for a given time
(based on the ambient temperature), and then again, the temperature difference, would be checked and if it
falls below the desired value then the fans would be switched off and the cycle would continue.
