Generally Communication can be of 2 types:

Classification of communication
1. Intrapersonal communication – talking to oneself in one’s mind.
2. Interpersonal communication – exchange of message between 2 people.
3. Group communication – in groups, clubs, classroom, organization.
4. Mass communication – radio, newspaper, twitter, Tv, other social media.

Medium of communication
5. Verbal communication – written or spoken.
6. Non-verbal communication – It is a wordless message conveyed through sign
language, gesture, body language, feelings, facial expressions.
7. Meta communication – contains implied meaning: verbal message is completely
different from the literal definition of the used words.

eg: Don’t be late tomorrow for class. --- Am I warning you? Does it mean you are
always late?
Formal vs. Informal communication
