 The fishermen know about the mosquitoes which swarm on them, bite, and won't let
them sleep.

For three days in the desert, there is nothing green, Salva's shoes fall apart, the sun is
relentless, there is no breeze just heat. Thorns gore their feet, they have little water

After Akeer gets better with help from the clinic, Nya thinks, "It was like music, the
sound of Akeer's laugh"
