David Hockney

David Hockney, born on the 9th of July 1937 (making him 85 years old) was born is Bradford
was the creator of the series I'm interested in “joiners”.
David started his “joiners” work in the 1980s
This piece of work is called “Pearblossom Highway” and was taken from the 11 th – 18th of April
1986.
This collage shows a very isolated road with many signs and also rubbish at the bottom of the
photo. My eyes are personally drawn towards the end of the yellow strip and also the stop sign.
In this image I like how the sky has be brought out and the transparency of light blue and white.
You could say that this image has some form of leading lines due to the yellow road lines on
the bottom of his image.
I will be influenced by this work because of the use of several photos to add up one photo with
several perspectives whether it be portrait or landscape.
