Dependent Clauses
Definition
A dependent clause is a group of words that contains
a subject and a verb but does not express a complete
thought. The bound clause cannot be a sentence.
Example
Dependent clause example : after, although, as, as
if, because, before, even if, even though, if, in
order to, since, though, unless, until, whatever,
when, whenever, whether, dan while.
Exp : When James studied in the bedroom for his
English quiz, it was very quiet.
Independent Clauses
Definition
A Independent clause is a group of words that
contains a subject and a verb and expresses a
complete thought. An independent clause is a
sentence
Example
Independent clause example : also, consequently,
furthermore, however, moreover, nevertheless, dan
therefore.
Exp: James studied in the bedroom for his English
quiz, however it was easy to concentrate because of
the quiet.

Simple Sentences
Definition
Simple sentences or simple sentences are sentences
that contain only one clause. The clause is the main
clause (which can stand alone). To form a clause,
you only need a subject and a predicate. The
predicate itself can be a verb phrase or just a verb.
Verb phrases can be formed from one verb and one
object
Example
My sister read the magazine
Subject = My sister
Verb = Read

Compound Sentences
Definition
A compound sentence is a sentence that combines
two independent clauses, which are connected by a
conjunction or conjunction. In a clause that can
stand alone or independent clause, you must use one
subject and one verb.
Example

A complex sentence is a sentence that consists of

Definition
Modifiers are words that can be added to simple
sentences that aim to add detail to the sentences
made. There are several modifiers that can be
included in a sentence, such as adjectives, adverbs
and prepositional phrases.

Adjectives
Lucy cooked a delicious dinner.
Adverbs
Lucy slowly cooked a delicious dinner.
Prepositional phrase
Lucy slowly cooked a delicious dinner after work. .

Coordinate Conjunctions
Definition
Coordinating conjunctions are conjunctions that are
used to connect two similar grammatical
constructions, namely: words, phrases, or clauses.
The connected elements are usually parallel (parallel
position) in grammatical structure. This conjunction
is often used in compound sentences to connect two
independent clauses
Example
Coordinate conjunctions consist of: for, and, nor,
but, or, yet, and so (fanboys). Examples of
coordinating conjunction sentences include:

Subordinate conjunctions are conjunctions that are at
the beginning of a subordinate clause called an
adverbial clause that functions to build a relationship
of ideas between the subordinate clause and the
main clause (in the form of an independent clause).
Main clause and adverbial clause form a complex
sentence.

I’m going to give her this present after our surprise
party on tuesday.
Purpose:
