 Nonverbal communication become rich with
information because of people use so many
different aspects of behavior, appearance, and
environment to convey meaning.

In addition, those types of nonverbal

communication can vary considerably across
cultures. Every culture interprets posture,
gestures, eye contact, facial expressions, vocal
noises, use of space, degree of territory, and time
differently.

In which physical behaviors, as opposed to words, are
used to express or convey the information. Such
behavior includes facial expressions, body posture,
gestures, eye movement, touch and the use of space.
 Eye Contact and Gaze

Communication The eyes play an important role in nonverbal
communication and such things as looking,
staring and blinking are important nonverbal
behaviors. When people encounter people or
things that they like, the rate of blinking
increases and pupils dilate.

TOUCH
Haptics is the study of touching as
nonverbal communication. Touches
that can be defined as
communication include
handshakes, holding hands, kissing,
back slap, "high-five", shoulder pat,
brushing arm,
PARALANGUAGE
Paralinguistics refers to vocal
communication that is separate
from actual language. This
includes factors such as tone of
voice, loudness, inflection, and
pitch.
SMELL
The sense of smell is an important
but poorly understood factor in
human communication. It is hard to
define smells and to talk about
them, but they can send important
chemical cues to those around us.
Interpretations of smells vary from
culture to culture.
