Requirements

• Hard Hat

• Safety Glasses

• Coveralls

• Steel Toed Boots c/w Ankle Protection


Additional P.P.E.
Requirements
If working with chemicals or other hazardous materials
- Goggles
- Splash Visor
- Chemical Gloves/Gauntlets
- Chemical Suit
- Suitable Protective Footwear (Steel Toed Rubber Boots)
- Follow the recommendations on the MSDS
(Material Safety Data Sheet)
Additional P.P.E.
Requirements
If grinding or welding

- Ensure suitable eye protection is worn

- Ensure suitable hand protection is worn

- Ensure suitable Fire retardant overalls/apron are worn

- Deploy protective safety screens


P.P.E. Responsibilities

 Employee responsible for maintaining and checking PPE is in


good condition (No decorative Stickers, Painting etc. of Hard
Hats)

 Employee to ensure PPE is worn correctly


(Hard Hats not back ward or to one side)

 Replacement PPE is available on Camp


(Refer to your supervisor)
Tool Box Talks

 Held daily and attended by all Foreman shift personnel

 Include (but not limited to)

 Activities to be carried out during the day after


 Hazards
 Control measures
 Emergency response
 First Aid
 PPE
 Material handling
 Interfaces
 Risk Assessment review
Safety Meetings
 Safety Meeting held weekly

 Meetings attended by all available personnel

 Meetings minutes of different sort

 Meetings include
• Review of accidents / incidents or near misses and previous
minutes
• Safety bulletins / recommendations
• Open forum discussion

 All Accident/Incident reported immediately to your supervisor


Accident/Incident report forms must be completed within 24hrs

Near Miss Reporting
All near misses and/or identified hazards need to be reported
immediately to your supervisor!
Near Miss / Hazard Report Forms to be completed within 24hrs!

Reporting of Near Misses / Hazards is actively encouraged

Fire Prevention

• Flammable materials must be stored in designated areas

• Spillages of hydrocarbon materials must be cleaned up safely and quickly

• Smoking is only allowed in designated areas

• Good housekeeping
Fire Fighting
If you discover a fire …

1) Raise the alarm & notify to Supervisor

2) Remove persons from immediate danger

3) Turn off all Machinery/Equipment


4) Take appropriate action to fight the fire without
excessive risk to self or others (Fire Fighting
Equipment is available)
Spillage

 All spills (Oil, Diesel etc.) must be cleaned up immediately

 Spent cleaning materials must be disposed of in the correct manner

 Good housekeeping
Local Requirements
Driving

 Carry your documents: (Driving License, Desert Pass, Copy of


Passport)!
 Wear your Seat Belts!

 Adhere to the speed limits!

 Follow the desert procedure when going into far destination!


Desert Driving
 Check The Radio on your Car it is properly working!
 Inform arriving location of journey + Estimated Time Arrival!

 Inform departing location of journey + Estimated Time Arrival !


 Always carry with you the water drum!
 In case you are lost contact the Office via Radio and do not get into
panic!
 Know your route, total distance to be traveled, signs to look out for on the
way (following a pipeline, route marked by old tires, barrels etc.
 Know the compass bearing to be followed!
Local Requirements
Any person who drive in the desert shall ensure that:
 His immediate Supervisor knows his destination and route!
 His vehicle is in good condition with adequate fuel, oil and water!

 His vehicle has tools, equipment and spares for emergency use!
 He has sufficient food and drinking water to sustain him until rescue
expire!
 He is familiar with survival and rescue techniques and procedure!
 Know the compass bearing to be followed
