MICRO TEACHING

OBJECTIVES
 Skill Practice
 Development of Confidence
 Reduce Complexities
 Immediate feedback
CHARACTERISTICS OF
MICROTEACHING
 Scale down teaching
 Training in the Training Institution
 No Discipline Problem
 Focused on One Teaching Skill
 Observation by Fellow Pupil Teacher
 Immediate Feedback
 6- 7students
 6-7 minutes
ADVANTAGES OF
MICRO-TEACHING
⚫ Effective Feedback Device
⚫ Develops Pre-Service of In-service Teaching
⚫ Efficiency Develop Specific Teaching Skills
⚫ Individualized Training
⚫ Attention on Teaching Behaviour
⚫ Simple Technique
⚫ More Effective for One or Two

⚫ Practice Continuous Training
⚫ Self-Evaluation
⚫ New Pattern of Observation of Student-Teacher’s
Teaching Use in Research Work
PRECAUTIONS IN
MICRO-TEACHING
 In micro-teaching technique, clarity of objectives is very
essential
 In this technique, model lessons are necessary.
 In it, only one micro-lesson should be prepared using
only one teaching skill. Only then the lesson would be
effective.
 Substantial suggestion or concrete opinions should be
given during the criticism phase of microteaching.
Drawbacks should accompany the appreciations also.
 The pupil-teacher should get his micro-lesson pa ln
prepared before practice
LIMITATIONS OF MICRO-TEACHING

 V.C.R. and other devices are required for using them in

micro-teaching. Only then this technique proves effective
and successful. In the absence of these devices, feedback
process cannot function successfully.
 Micro - teaching is not a complete method in itself. By using
this method with the collaboration of other methods, it can
be made effective e.g., interaction analysis, simulated
teaching technique, demonstration lessons etc.
 Proper training should be given to the methodology
lectures.
But, before executing this programme, no such training is
given in the training college of the country.
 For this training, sufficient time is required.
INDIAN MODEL OF MICROTEACHING

 1. Teaching - 6 minutes
 2. Feedback - 6 minutes
 3. Re-Plan - 12 minutes
 4. Re-teach - 6 minutes
⚫ 5. Re- 6 minutes
feedback- Total 36 minutes

INTEGRATION OF TEACHING SKILLS

Meaning
The integration of teaching skills means to decide
about the various skills to be used in a teaching-learning
situation and the use of those selected skills. Such use of
selected teaching skill is termed as the integration of
teaching skills.
It includes
Selection, organization and use of pre-acquired teaching
skills.

There are two causes of earth quake. They are :
(i)greater heat and pressure inside the earth
(ii)movement of water vapours due to high
