TYPES OF SPEECH
STYLE
Intimate Style
• This type of style is used among intimate
members of the family or friends.

EXAMPLE:
• Husband and wife
• Boyfriend and girlfriend
• Parent and children
Casual Style
• Also known as informal communication style.
This type is typically used in sharing personal
conversations with peers and friends.
EXAMPLE:
• Buddies
• Chats and emails
• Blogs
• Letters to friends
Consultation Style
• This style is considered the most
operational among other styles.
EXAMPLE:
• Doctor and patient
• Lawyer and client
• Lawyer and judge
• Teacher and student
• Counsellor and client
Formal Style
• Makes use of careful and standard speech
because this is the style one adapts
when in formal meetings and events
Examples:
• Rhetorical statements and questions
• Speeches
• Announcements
Frozen Style
The most formal style that is used in
formal events or ceremonies.
Example:
• The Pledge of Allegiance
• The Lord’s Prayer
• The Preamble Constitution
