Three types of Portfolio

• Working portfolio
• Showcase portfolio
• Progress portfolio
Working portfolio
• “teacher-student portfolio”
• It is a project “in work” it contains the work
in progress as well as the finished samples
of work

Showcase portfolio

• “best works portfolio or display


portfolio”
• focuses on the student’s best and
most representative work. It
exhibit the best performance of
the student.
Progress portfolio
• Teacher Alternative Assessment Portfolio.
• It contains examples of student’s work with
the same types done over a period of time.
Uses of portfolio
• can provide both formative and summative
opportunities
• can communicate concrete information about what
us expected of students
• allow students to document aspects of their learning
• useful to showcase periodic or end of the year
accomplishment of students
• used to facilitate communication between teachers
and parents
• use portfolios for national competency testing to
grant high school credit
• may be assembled for combination of purposes
E-portfolio
• is a collection of work or evidences in
an electronic format - also variously
known as electronic portfolios,
webfolios, or e-portfolios

• E portfolio is a collection of work. “it


is a collection of authentic and
diverse evidence, drawn from a larger
archive representing what a person,
what a student has learned over time
E-portfolio contains
• Files of various formats (text, pictures, videos)
• Projects
• Evidences related to school/work
• Evidences of creativity and performance
• Evaluation, analysis, and recommendations
E-Portfolio are considered as learning and
assessment tool

• It has been used to facilitate, document, and archive


student learning
• are commonly used by students to gather their
work, reflect on their strengths and faults, and
attempt to improve.
