Halluconogens

- It is a diverse
group of drugs
that alter a
person’s
awareness of their
surroundings as
well as their own
thoughts and
feelings.
Hallucinogens are
categorized into two which are:
• Classic Hallucinogens (such as LCD)
• Dissociative Drugs (such as PCP)
In addition, dissociative drugs can cause abusers
to feel out of control or disconnected from their
body and environment. It also affects the way we
think, the sensation, self-awareness and emotions
that causes hallucination and delusions to the
person taking drugs. It is also known as
PSYCHEDELICS which affects the central nervous
system.
MARIJUANA
- It refers to a dried leaves, flowers, stems, and
seeds from the hemp plant, Cannabis sativa.

-Marijuana contains a psychoactive chemical


called delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and
other related compounds.
This drug commonly called:

• 5 finger Grass
• Tungki
• Ganja Bhang
• Mary Jane
• Acapulco Gold
Major components:
 Tetrahidrocanabinol. it has psychotropic compound that is
responsible for creating a hallucinogenic effect.
 Cannabinol. it is red and physiologically inactive. Also considered
to be a liposoluble molecules that was classified according to its
chemical structure.
- CBN is also rejected by water, as it is only soluble in a fatty body.
 Cannabidiol. it is pink and physiologically inactive. it is a popular
substance used as an alternative treatment of multiple sclerosis,
epilepsy, chronic pain, and other heavy diseases.
FORMS OF MARIJUANA:

1. Marijuana Joints or Cigarettes. came from dried leaves,


tops and most available form of marijuana.

2. Hashish or Hash. it is the resin extracted of the plant


usually granular or solid chunky in form ranging from
mustardy yellow to dark brown.

3. Hashish Oil. it is the highest form of marijuana that is


not usually available because it is expensive. Is it brown
in color and considered as concentrated cannabis.

LYSERGIC ACID DIETHYLAMIDE (LSD). known to be most
powerful of all types of hallucinogens it is 100 times stronger
than the cocaine or peyote.

 - Lysergic acid was found in ergot, a fungus that grows on


rye and other grains.
 - It's effects, often called a "trip", can be stimulating,
pleasurable, and mind-altering or it can lead to an
unpleasant, sometimes terrifying experience called a "bad
trip."
 It can be orally injected or liquid drop in the eyes.

Psilocyn and Psilocybin

- This are the hallucinogenic components


contained in over 75 recognized mushroom
species native to tropical and subtropical areas
in South America, Mexico, Southeast Asia,
Europe and the United States.
- Albert Hofmann, who is credited
with finding LSD, identified the active mushroom
ingredients and established that
psilocybin was the primary hallucinogenic factor in the
mushrooms, and that psilocyn was a minor component.

- its chemical name is

- Its generic name is K or SPECIAL K
- Use as human anesthetic
- It is used for children, people with poor
health, and veterinary medicine as general
anesthetic.
- It is a liquid that is bought in a pharmacy and
cooked into a powder or snort.
EFFECTS OF KETAMINE:

a. Low dose induces a slight fuzzy sense of numbness in


extremities
b. High dose can have a hallucinogenic impact which will
lead the patient to feel very distant from body.The
experience will be called entering “K” hole
c. Effects get 5-10 minutes if snorted
d. If the results are administered intramuscularly, it may
never be inserted into the vein
within 4 minutes.
e. Can be felt within 10-20 minutes if ingested
MORNING GLORY KEEPERS OR

- Commonly exploited due to its
hallucinogenic impact triggering behavioral changes with
an active key seed portion strongly similar to LSD.

- Symtoms can rage widely, From Diarrhea to


hallucinations.
