people, comorbidities relating to being obese have some of
the highest morbidity and mortality rates throughout the
United States. Obesity can lead to heart disease, stroke,
diabetes, and increase the risk of premature death (Centers
for Disease Control and Prevention, 2022). Colorado is
listed as the state with the fewest amount of obese people
and the second state with the longest life expectancy (Most
obese states 2022, n.d.).
COMMUNITY
PLANNING
When planning on increasing community
health, knowing what is available on both
a state and federal level can increase the
options for people to obtain a healthy
weight. Providing education on which
apps will assist with tracking calories and
steps offers a tool which people can use
on their own time to get healthier.
