Analysis of Compliance Level of Use of Oral Antidiabetic Drugs in Outpatient Control Patients in Ngantru
Tulungagung Health Center

Diabetes mellitus is a chronic disease that occurs when the body cannot produce enough insulin or cannot use insulin
effectively. Insulin is a hormone produced by the pancreas that allows glucose in the blood circulation to enter the
body's cells where glucose is converted into energy needed by muscles and tissues. DM patients must maintain
medication compliance so that blood sugar levels can be controlled.Compliance is the attitude or behavior of patients in
obeying the rules given by doctors and pharmacists to achieve the success of treatment as expected. This study was
conducted to determine the level of compliance with the use of oral antidiabetic drugs in outpatient control patients at
Ngantru Tulungagung Health Center. This research uses descriptive method with the sampling technique used is
purposive sampling. The number of samples used in the study were 54 respondents who met the inclusion criteria. Data
collection was conducted in the period of May 27 to July 27, 2019 using the MMAS-8 questionnaire to measure the
compliance of the treatment of Diabetes Mellitus patients. Based on the calculation of the average value, the results
were 6.79 which showed that Diabetes Mellitus patients at Ngantru Tulungagung Health Center were included in the
category of moderate compliance.
