Ritesh Agarwal is the founder and CEO of OYO Hotels & Homes.
He was born on 16th Nov 1993 in a Marwari family in Odisha , India
and brought up in Titilagarh .
Ritesh comes from a family that used to run a small shop in Southern
Odisha city called Rayagada and his schooling was completed from
Sacred Heart School in Rayagada.
At the age of 13, he started selling SIM cards.
He graduated from St. Johns Senior Secondary School , Bundi Road ,
Kota, Rajasthan and moved to Delhi in 2011 for college .
He dropped out of college , and was selected for the Thiel Fellowship
(started by Peter Thiel) in 2013.
The liability of Ritesh Agarwal is unlimited . He is
the sole owner who is responsible for all the business
affair . Any risk of failure of business will be borne
all alone by him . If the business is successful , he
receives all the profit as his reward . As a sole
proprietor , he has all the right to run the business
and take all decisions alone . There is lack of
business continuity . The direct relationship
between efforts and rewards encourages to work hard
and earn more .

OYO Rooms , also known as OYO Hotels & Homes, is an Indian
multinational hospitality chain of leased and franchised hotels, homes
and living spaces. Founded in 2012 by Ritesh Agarwal , OYO initially
consisted mainly of budget hotels.OYO is a global platform that
empowers entrepreneurs and small businesses with hotels and homes by
providing full stack technology that increases earnings and eases
operations. Bringing affordable and trusted accommodation that guests
can book instantly. They strive to make the lives of our patrons easier by
multiplying revenue channels and using our technological expertise to
maximize demand .
 FORMATION OF OYO ROOMS
Travelling across India at the age of 17, Ritesh stayed in more than 100
bed and breakfasts, guest houses, and hotels to realize there was a
massive dearth of affordable and good-quality hotels in the budget hotel
category. He believed that everyone deserves a beautifully designed ,
chic and comfortable living space . And everyone deserves a better life .
That ’s how OYO was launched in May 2013. OYO today is the world’s
leading chain of hotels, homes, and spaces.
As a sole proprietor , it is very easy to start the business
as no legal formalities are required to commenced the business only
certain things are required . There is no separate law that governs sole
proprietorship.
