CLASS PROCEDURES
1. ATTENDANCE
• Will be counted immediately from WEEK 1

• Students who fail to achieve 80% of the


attendance shall be barred from the subject

• A ‘role call’ will be made during each


period of the class and will be directly
recorded in the system.
• In the case that you may need to miss a
class, contact us prior to the date.

• Students with MC with more than 20% in


the respective trimester are advise to
take ‘Leave Of Absence’ as you will be
deemed as unfit to go through the whole
trimester's workload;

• The dateline for Barring List will be out in


Week 10 (subject to announcement by
Exam Unit)
• All letters of absence/apologies/mc must be
submitted within 48 hours to the class
coordinator!

• Come to each and every class, ON TIME!!!


2. BE ACTIVE, PASSIONATE,
COMMITTED, AND ATTENTIVE!!!
• Actively deepen your knowledge of design by
observing and do a lot of research on how
the art of design is practised.

• Due to the nature of the course, everyone is


encouraged to use the studio to the upmost.

• Sharing and changing knowledge among your


colleagues will create a good team spirit.
3. CONSULTATIONS
• You are required to consult on your project
in the studio during the class hours!

• But if you need additional consultation, you


may do so by emailing the respective
lecturers.

• Additional consultation shall only be done


by appointment.
4. SUBMISSION
• All assignments must be submitted according to the due
date. Late submission will not be entertain unless you have
prior approval from your lecturer.

• Make sure the ‘SUBMISSION FORM’ is signed as proof of


your
submission.

• No submission under the lecturers door.

• You must adhere to our requirements and standards


when submitting your assignments

• In the case that you may need to miss the submission, contact
us prior to the date and make alternative arrangements! Do not
rely on your friends to hand in your work on your behalf.
5. PRESENTATION
COME ON TIME!!!
This is to make sure that the presentation will run
smoothly.

Dress smart; no slippers and short pants are allowed.

No one is allowed to leave the studio until everyone’s


done. Comments and suggestions will be done
during presentations.

It is compulsory for students to be present during


the submission and presentation day.

If you are late, you will not be allowed to present and


lose marks.
6. STUDIO
Everyone is responsible for the studio
cleanliness and security.

• Please make sure that the studio is left clean


and everything back in position before you
left.

• Switch off the lights, close the door and


wait/inform the lecturer in-charge if it
happened you are the last person to leave.
7. PLAGIARISM
• All work for this class must be original and
completely designed and executed by
the student themselves.

• Receiving help will be considered as


cheating!!!

• You may ask others for opinions, but no one


else is allowed to create the work except you.
8. COMMUNICATIONS
• MMLS (Multimedia Learning System)
and emails will be our main source of
communication.

• Always check your MMLS for latest


announcement and email us for any
clarification/appointment.

• Google Classroom.
9. GRADINGS
A = Excellent work on projects, attendance, preparation
and participation extra effort involved; project exceeds
minimum requirement

B = Above average work on projects, good attendance,


preparation and participation

C = Average work – projects completed with a minimal


effort

F = Failure to meet expectations of this course by


project not submitted, weak projects, preparation and
participation, or missing classes.
10. PASSING MARKS
Minimum passing grade for FCM subjects
is grade C.

Grade D & F - the student must retake


the subject in order to pursue to
Undergraduate programme
